December books and Final tally
Its a third of the way through January, 2020, and I am just now getting to my December list and my final book count for 2019. I have mentally already made the jump to the Reading Challenge for this year and am cruising with my books. I know I am only 9 days in, but I have read 5 books, so I am pleased.
I read a 5 book series on Kindle....
Searching for Sunday - I loved this book. She wrote what my heart has been feeling for a long while. She was a fellow doubter/wrestler and she was a sister of my heart I will never meet this side of our Reward, which she is enjoying now. I mourned for her as I read this book. I mourned for myself. She was so beautifully honest, it felt like I had written the words myself. Never do I doubt the Father - but this church, this American church - she sucks a lot of the time.
The Undoing Project - This book starts out sounding like its going to be a sequel to Moneyball. Instead it takes a left turn after discussing the Houston Rockets and tells the story of a platonic love affair between 2 Israeli scientists. That's not to say I didn't find this book interesting - I did. Very. I am a geek that way, but up until the end, I kept expecting to swing back around to what it talked about at the beginning and it didn't. I was left feeling like a bait and switch had been perpetrated on my person.
I finished out a series with 2 books.....
My 2019 total was 150 books exactly. Exactly. I cant believe I read that many books. I cant believe that is my new goal for 2020.
