April Books

I know.  Forgive me.   But we played baseball almost every single day and we just got back from our big whirlwind end of season tournament in Auburndale, Florida.   Whew.  I am exhausted.

I also didnt read as many books as previous months.   I had a 16yo who would rather talk to me, so by God, I will talk to him.   But I did manage to finish some really good books....

They are as follows:

Night - Dear God - may we wake up before we do this again.... May we realize that this is happening already to souls all over the world.

Endure - I thought this book would be about Resilience... It wasnt - was shocked I stayed with the book, but it is good.  So good that I recommended it to the Hubs and am very interested in the renewed effort to break the 2 hour marathon mark.

Mistreated - It is a thorough discussion of our healthcare system; what we do right and what we do wrong; what we could do better.  It makes me want to re-evaluate how we get our medical care, ask new questions, and in many instances, made me pat myself on the back.   Mostly, because we pay for our healthcare and have forever, we are very in tuned with the care we receive and what we expect.   But I know we can do better and I am excited to actually learn more.... Weird.

We Were Eight Years in Power - This was good for me to read.   To hear how a President I did not agree with was what someone else loved.  I respect Michelle Obama more, understanding her childhood, which so resembled my own, and how leaving that wonderful world, showed her a different reality.

Letters to the Church - This was a beautiful read after Irresistible.   This is what I have always thought the church should be.   This is what I thought our church plant would be, and honestly, was disillusioned when it wasnt.  That it was just like any other church, even with all the smiling faces.

So, this is my list... My 2019 total now stands at 37.  Not bad.   And I have finished some in May so far...

I believe this was a blip on  my 2019 quest, but still... More than 1 a week.   Not bad.
